New Zealanders are eating and growing more organic produce than ever before, with a 127 percent rise in organic foodstuffs sold through supermarkets since 2012 according to a 2016 report by Organics Aotearoa New Zealand (OANZ).

The total value of the organics industry to the New Zealand economy across both local and export markets has significantly increased with a 30 percent rise recorded between 2012 and 2016.

There is a trend for owners of lifestyle blocks to go down the organic path, choosing to have control over the provenance of the food they are consuming.

Country spoke to two organically-minded folk who are on their own quests to improve the quality of the land they live on and the food they produce.
