These Boots are Made for Walking
New Zealand has more than 15,000 kilometres of varied coastline – some rugged, some more gentle, white sand, black sand, tree-fringed or strikingly exposed – all of it, impressive. While much of the coast is accessible, there remain significant and expansive tracts that are very remote and some, only reachable via private farmland.
Across the country, generous and genial landowners have dipped their toes into tourism ventures by hosting walkers on their properties with hospitable add-ons.
This is walking elevated to new heights with home cooked meals, comfortable accommodation and access to parts of the New Zealand coastline that may otherwise be out of reach on foot, or, offer views of the ocean that only a lucky few get to experience.
Waterfront checks out coastal walks in Kaikoura, Wairarapa and Northland and discovers families committed to sharing their slice of New Zealand paradise with others.
