Living the lifestyle block dream means, by default, you’ll likely encounter a few rats, stoats, possums and rabbits along the way – stop them in their tracks and aim to be predator-free.

Owners of lifestyle blocks can make a real difference to their own property, their neighbours’ land, and contribute positively to the health and resilience of New Zealand’s native flora and fauna through effective predator-free initiatives. They should take cues from predator control initiatives being rolled out on a large scale around New Zealand and take action and ownership of the predators within their property boundaries.
